Mapleton, Iowa— Rose Teresa Milligan, 97, of Mapleton died Monday, February 14, 2000, at her nephew’s residence in McCook Lake, South Dakota.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Mapleton, with the Rev. David Hogan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with a vigil wake service at 7 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mrs. Milligan was born June 27, 1902 in Mapleton, the daughter of Jacob and Mary (Graff) Gaul.

She married Howard Milligan. He died June 11, 1965.

She was formerly employed with Pelletier’s and Younker’s in Sioux City. She moved to Omaha in 1952, where she was employed in ladies retail. She retired from Lerner’s in Omaha in 1967, and returned to Mapleton. She moved in with her nephew in September 1999.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include her nephew, James P. Gaul of McCook Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Memorials in her name may be directed to Hospice.
