12 April 1928Mrs. John G. Olson was called by death at the Junger hospital early Saturday, following and operation of a week before. Mrs. Olson had put up a brave fight for life, and it was thought she would probably be able to pull through, but sinking spells starting Friday night were finally fatal about four o’clock Saturday morning.
Mrs. Olson grew up in this community where she was known and loved by all of our people. Her untimely death at such an early age is very unfortunate for her husband and two small children.
Mrs. John G. Olson was born August 3, 1900. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Holstein Vahler. She was baptized and confirmed in the Norweigan Lutheran faith at an early age and was always a good loyal member. She was married to John G. Olson on the 15th day of January 1924. Two children were born to this union.
Besides the husband and two children, she leaves a mother, three sisters and three brothers to mourn her departure. Her father and one sister precede her to the great Beyond. The living brothers and sisters are Orren, Leonard, Paul and Helma of Soldier and Elizabeth of Omaha. Mrs. Olson died March 31, 1928 at the age of 27 years, 7 months and 27 days.
Funeral services were held Monday from the family home north of town and at the church in Soldier. Rev. Sunner conducting the services. The remains were laid to rest in the Soldier Valley Cemetery- Soldier Sentinel.
