Mrs. Clara O. Olson, formerly of Soldier, Iowa passed away on July 15, 1978 at the Carroll Care Center at Carroll, Iowa. Death came at the age of 81 years 2 months and 1 day.

She was born at Soldier on May 14, 1897 and her parents were John and Martha Ulven Nelsen. She was married to Alfred Olson on May 19, 1920 at Soldier. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1966. She had lived in Carroll the past 38 years and had resided at the Carroll Care Center since 1975. She was a member of the Soldier Lutheran Church.

Clara is survived by her sister, Mrs. Guy (Cora) Hanson of Soldier, Iowa ; three grandsons, two granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren and two step-great- grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Russell Willard Olson, four brothers and two sisters.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday July 18, 1978 at Soldier Lutheran Church, Soldier, Iowa with Pastor Luther Flugstad officiating.

The organist, Mrs. Charles Dommer, played the selections “Softly and Tenderly” and “In The Garden”.

Bearers were LeRoy Nelsen, Clarion Nelsen, Orvan Ulven, Glen Olson, Clayton Swenson and Loyd Braden.

Interment was in the Soldier Lutheran Church cemetery, Soldier, Iowa with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Soldier, Iowa.
