Jason Paul Dawdy, son of Dean Quinton and Lorraine A. (Peschel) Dawdy, was born August 12, 1980 in Sioux City, Iowa. He passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at his home in Onawa at the age of 28.

Jason was baptized in 1980 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Sioux City. At age 7, his family moved to Oregon. In 1992, they moved back to Whiting, Iowa and to Onawa in 1997.Jason attended school at Whiting, West Monona and later received his G.E.D.

On October 31, 2005, Jason was united in marriage to Miranda Shook in Onawa. To this union two children were born; Aiden and Jordyn. The family made their home in Onawa.

Jason had worked at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting as a C.N.A. , at Bomgaar’s warehouse in Sioux City, Newell Construction, and recently was a truck driver for Gerhold Concrete.

Jason loved working on cars, being outdoors, fishing, listening to music, and most of all playing with his kids.

Jason was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his father, Dean Dawdy, step-father, Milton Harvey; one uncle, Chuck Peschel; and two cousins; Mindy Carda and Jose Nava in infancy.

Grateful for having shared his life with his wife, Miranda Dawdy and their children Aiden and Jordyn of Onawa; his mother, Lorrie Dawdy of Onawa; one brother Matthew Dawdy of Onawa; one sister, Amanda Stewart and her husband, Jacob of Onawa; two nephews; Seth Miller and Gage Dawdy of Onawa; one niece, Erin Stewart of Onawa; parents-in-law; Donny and Becky Grant of Onawa and Leo Shook of Castana, Iowa; one brother-in-law, Luke Shook of Omaha, Ne; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services were held Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa, Iowa with Minister Jocquelyn “Jackie” Girdner Officiating.

Music Selections were “In The Garden”, “Tears In Heaven” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”.

Pallbearers were Bob Riner, Jake Stewart, John Baker, Austin Spaulding, Brett Spaulding and Tim Graff.

Honorary Pallbearers were Donny Grant and Doug Dawdy.

Interment was in Hite Cemetery at Whiting, Iowa.
