9 September 2009David J. Wemhoff, 54, Onawa, Iowa died Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at his residence. David John Wemhoff was born December 15, 1954 at Cottonwood, Idaho, the son of Sylvester and Philonena (Arnzen) Wemhoff. He was born with a hearing disability and attended a school for hearing impaired at Gooding, Idaho.
David was currently living in Onawa and had been employed at Crossroads of Western Iowa.
David enjoyed collecting horse miniatures and pictures and was a fan of John Wayne. He was very creative and a good mechanical aide on the farm. He also enjoyed building things out of wood.
Survivors include a special friend, Odetta Reid of Onawa; a brother, Ray (Raylene) of Winona, ID; five sisters, Jean Dustin of Grangeville, ID, Patricia (Berkley) Bowersox of Richland, WA, Karen (Tom) Schumaker of Culdesac, ID, Janet (Steve) Morris of Kent, WA and Mary Jo (Bill) Chase of Lewiston, ID.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Ted and a sister, Margaret Ann.
A funeral service was 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Rush Family Chapel with Father Patrick O’Kane officiating. Music selections were “Hosea” and “Be Not Afraid” with Gary Linder, cantor. Additional services will be held in Idaho. Burial will be in Greencreek Cemetery at Greencreek, Idaho.
