Ethel Piatt Custer Mock, 82, loving, caring mother passed away at the Mercy Hospice of Johnston, Iowa on Wednesday, November 17, 2009 of natural causes. Ethel was born April 5, 1927 in Sioux City, Iowa to the late George and Katie Custer. She graduated from Whiting High School in 1945.

She worked at the Onawa Telephone Company until she met Wilbur Jr. Mock and was united in marriage in 1949. They lived in Moorhead, Onawa and Turin, Iowa. After 1975 she lived in many other areas Spencer, Sioux City, Onslow and Salt Lake City. In 2008 she returned to Iowa to be with her family and loved ones.

Ethel is survived by one brother George Custer of New Zealand and his family Izzy, Trace, Josh and Jake; one half -sister Yuba Oster and her family Mike, Peggy and their children; beloved nieces Julie Sornson and Barb Andrews and their families.

Ethel had four children; Kathy, Greg, Larry and Randy; daughter and son-in-law; Mel Finken, Kim Burns, Angela Mock, Cassie Mock, Sharon Mock, Pat Mock and Barb Mock; 27 granchildren Mark, Chad, Brian and Alica Finken, Melanie Burgan, Adrian Carlos and Arthur Mock, Flora Elson, Amourea Carvalho, Jennifer Stoermer, Kevin and Dustin Mock, Ryan Lafave, Nick Neuharth, Melony Libke, Sarah and Scott Bowman; their spouses Jen Amber and Jessie Finken, Mike Carvalho, John Elston, Jeremy Stoermer, Kimberly Mock, Hailey Mock and Mike Libke; 25 great-grandchildren Cheyenne and Mikaila Burgan, Mariah and Mason Stoermer, Logan and Gage Beller, Jessen and Ethan Finkenm, Lauren, Connie, Riley Mock, Tayler, Kaiya Elson., Tritson and Keira Cavalhoo, Jersy Gordon, Kyleigh Mock, Brayden Mock, Brandon Sheehan, Taeler Bowman, Ben, Violet and Ellison Finken, Ashton and Cheyenne Libke.

Dear friends and relatives Dorothy Larson, Arvil and Barb James, Kathi Davis, Florence Hollingshead, Charlie and Cathy Brown and many others.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Merle, George, Wyman and Chancy Willis (Bill) Custer, one daughter-in-law Sheryl (Mock) Galbreath who loved her so much as well as many friends and relatives who she is now with.

There will be no memorial services for her per her request so any cards or memorials can be sent to the family at 1714 West 16th Sioux City, Iowa 51103 so they can be put on a DVD being made of her life and loved ones.
