Two Men Killed in Car Accident Near Turin

Two construction company employees of the Honegger Construction Co. of Onawa, Iowa, were killed in a one car accident early Sunday morning at the junction of highways 135 and 37 one mile east of Turin. Dead were Kenneth E. Hightree, 46, of Decatur, Nebr. and Leo A Henneous 44 of Castana, Iowa.

The bodies were found about 5:30 a.m. Sunday in a car driven by Mr. Hightree, but owned by Mr. Henneous, which Sheriff Mark Whitmore stated evidently went out of control and nosed into a deep ditch. Monona County Coroner Loyce R. Fouts, said the men died instantly. Both bodies were taken to the Pearson Funeral home in Onawa.

Leo A Henneous was born Oct. 30, 1914, at Castana, and had been a lifetime resident of that community. Survivors are four brothers, Cecil G. of Reseda, Calf, Theodore of Denver, Colo, Walter of Mapleton and Leonard of Portland, Oregon.

Services for Mr. Henneous were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Castana Community Church. Rev Phillip Olson officiated and burial was in the Kennebec Cemetery under the direction of the Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa.
