Leo V. Olson, 79, of Woodburn, died January 24, 1995, in Salem, Oregon. He was born on January 31, 1915 in Soldier, Ia. to Edward and Mabel Olson. He graduated from High school in Iowa and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served during WWII and was honorably discharged at the rank of Private. He was a cattle rancher and farmer for over sixty two years. He was honored as being Live Stockman of the year in 1977 from the Oregon Cattleman’s Association. He was also a member of the Marion County Livestock Assoc. and a past member of the Masonic Lodge. He has been a resident of Oregon since 1957 and moved to Woodburn, Oregon in 1988. He married Florence K. Laws in Lincoln City, Oregon on September 12, 1992.

He was also a member of the Immanual Lutheran Church in Woodburn, Or.

Survivors in addition to his wife Florence is a daughter, Denise Olson Marande of Salem, Oregon and one brother, Elliott Olson of Sacramento, California; one granddaughter, Pipe Cox of Salem, Oregon and one grandson, Matt Smith of Clackamas, Oregon.

Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 27, 1995 at 11:00 a.m. at Simon Funeral Chapel. Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m. January 27, 1995 at Aurora Community Cemetery in Aurora, Oregon.
