Bernice J. Yacevich, 71, 517 ½ Turner St., died Tuesday, May 23, 1989 in the Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Whitfield United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Wimmer officiating. Burial will be in Floyd Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 today with the family present from 6-8 p.m. in Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home.

Mrs. Yacevich, the former Bernice J. Cutler, was born June 13, 1917, in Whiting, Iowa, and attended Whiting schools. She married George Yacevich November 7, 1936, in Le Mars, Iowa. The couple made their home in Sioux City. He died Sept. 29, 1969, in Sioux City. She worked for the Sioux City Community School System and retired in 1978.

Mrs. Yacevich was an active member of Whitfield United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, George of Cambridge, Minn.; two daughters Beverly Sorensen of South St Paul, Minn. and Jeanette Gagne of Water town, N.Y.; a sister, Maxine Goodal of Scappoose, Ore.; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
