Mrs. Mary Olson passed away Monday, July 19, 1971 at the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa after a lingering illness. She had reached the age of 89 years, 11 months and 14 days at the time of her death.

Mary Hannah Lee was born at Soldier, Iowa on August 5, 1881, the daughter of Eric and Christine Bilone Lee,. On August 30, 1900, she was united in marriage to Inman J. Olson at Albaton, Iowa. After her marriage the family lived at Albaton until 1911 when they moved to Onida, S.D. In 1919 they moved to Armour, S.D. where she lived until seven years ago when she came to Whiting to make her home with her son, Earl Olson. Mr. Olson preceded her in death a number of years ago. She was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational of Armour, S.D.

Survivors are three sons, Ernal of Whiting, Leland of Eureka, S.D. and Forest of Storey, Ark; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Mildred) Rink of North Miami, Fla.; one brother Henry Lee of Sloan, Iowa; one half sister, Mrs. Hilma Johnson of Denver, Colo.; one half brother, Adolf Lee of Onawa, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Mrs. Ivy Bennett and Mrs. Mabel Edwards,

Services were held at the Wood Funeral Chapel in Whiting at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 1971 with the Rev. Edward Moberg officiating. Graveside committal services were held at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Armour, S.D. at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Allen officiating.
