Severt Dahl, age 88, of Omaha, formerly of Mapleton died Tuesday, January 16, 2001 after a short illness.

A memorial service was held at Brewer Korisko Funeral Home in Omaha on Thursday, January 19, 2001.

Severt was born in Geddes, South Dakota, June 10, 1912. He was married in Geddes to Hazel Ping where their son Jack was born. They moved to Denver, Colorado in 1942. In 1944 another son, Doug was born. They moved to Whiting, Iowa and later to Mapleton where Severt worked as a carpenter for Green Bay Lumber Company. He served on the Mapleton Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Severt moved to Omaha in 1992.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law. Doug and Jean Dahl and a daughter-in-law, Rita Dahl of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret McWilliams of Denver, Colorado and a brother, Oscar “Swede” Dahl of Canon City, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; a son, Jack, his parents; a brother and a sister.
