Emil F. Wacheldorf, son of Hans and Henrietta Wacheldorf was born on December 20, 1900 near Charter Oak, Iowa and died on November 17, 1969 having reached the age of 68 years, 10 months and 27 days.

He farmed in the Mapleton, Danbury and Anthon area before moving to Mapleton 23 years ago. He worked for the city street department before becoming policeman several years ago.

Emil was married to Leona Jacobs on February 26, 1922 at Mapleton.

Survivors include the widow; four daughters, Mrs. Morris Riley and Mrs. Donald Thiel both of Mapleton, Mrs. Richard Reinbold of Sioux City and Mrs. Robert Marsh of Ute; four sons, Elmer and Leonard both of Mapleton, Robert of Sioux City and Richard of Shelby, Nebraska; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Pierce of Anthon and Mrs. Stanley Bocian of Sioux City; two brothers Louie and Bernard both of Anthon and 27 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 19, 1969, at the Walter Chapel at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Henry Held officiating.

Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery in Mapleton, Iowa.

Pallbearers were William McNamara, Grant Scoles, Ralph Habinck, Richard Kuth, Lawrence Otto and Merle Davis.
