Onawa, Iowa—Mrs. Bessie Thomas, 71, of Onawa, a lifetime resident of Monona and Harrison Counties, died Monday, September 19th 1955 at her home after a short illness. She had lived here since 1949.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church of this city. Rev. E.E. Epperson officiating. The music was furnished by Mrs. Orland Ferris and Mrs. Nancy Linden. Mrs. Ferris sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Beyond the Sunset”.

Bearers were Isaac Walker, Harold Johnson, Dominic Marley, Wm. Framke, Dall Mobley and Philip Johnston. Burial was made in the Soldier Valley Cemetery under the direction of the Pearson Funeral Home.,

Suviving are the widower, a daughter, Mrs LaVera Fera Tery of Sioux City; two sons Harley Hogeboom of Moorhead and Thomas Alden Hogeboom of Kennewick, Wash; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Thayer of Moorhead, Mrs. Bertha Nuzum of Sedalia, Mo.; and Mrs. Etta Johnson of California; a brother, Walter Jones of Onawa and 4 grandchildren.
