Mary L Heisler was born May 13, 1901 near Mapleton to John T. and Margaret (Shull) Heisler and lived most of her life at Ticonic. She graduated from Smithland High School and attended Morningside College. She taught 2 years near Mapleton.

January 2, 1924 she married Albert Thomson at Grace Methodist Church in Morningside. They farmed near Ticonic until 1956 when they moved to a farm near Elk Point, South Dakota. In 1974 they moved to Sioux City. Mr. Thomson passed away January 3, 1976.

She is survived by a son Arthur of LaJolla, California and 5 grandchildren and a sister Margie Heisler of Castana and 6 brothers, Warren of Castana, John of Mapleton, Evans and Vernon of Sioux City and Morris of Onawa and Marchmont of Smithland.

Funeral services were held Thursday May 11th at 2 p.m. in Ticonic Methodist Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Louis Aitken officiating. Maude Persinger was organist. Casket bearers were Glen Skow, Elwood Nagel, Leslie Maynard, Waldo Lundeen, Rex Persinger and Darrell Larson. Burial was in Grant Township Cemetery near Ticonic under direction of Willman Funeral Home in Rodney.
