Frieda Louise Wilhelmine Jeschke 1908- 2009

Frieda Louise Wilhelmine Jeschke was born March 30, 1908, the daughter of Otto and Bertha Seils Kuester, She died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at the Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa, at the age of one-hundred-one.

Frieda was born in Crawford County, Iowa. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on April 26, 1908 and later confirmed on April 24, 1921 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ute. On January 15, 1928, Frieda was united in marriage to Carl Jeschke at St Paul Lutheran Church. The couple made their home on several farms in the Ute, Rickets and Mapleton areas and later moving to Denison for thirty-five years.

She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed sewing for them, especially her granddaughters. She made many quilts for family and friends. She enjoyed flowers and vegetable gardening, baking, cooking and canning. She was a faithfull member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison and the Doras Society. After breaking her ankle while tending to her flowers, she moved to the Denison Care Center in July 2006. In September 2007, she moved to Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton to be near her family.

Frieda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; two sons-in-law, Freddie Friedrichsen and Norman Nielsen; one grandson, Randy Nielsen; twin great-grandsons, Douglas and Daniel Nielson; one brother, Martin Kuester; and two sisters, Olga Berndt and Mahala Olhmier. Survivors include two daughters, Elaine and Betty; seven grandchildren, David and his wife, Jac; Inez and her husband Craig; Steven and his wife, Debbie, Nancy and her husband, Steve; Alan and his wife, Jo Ann; Cindy and her husband, Don; Andrew and his wife, Sylvia; forty great and great-great grandchildren; special friend Roseanne; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 29, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa. Rev, Kurt Kaiser and Rev. David Sewing officiated the service and grave side rites held at the Oakland Cemetery in Denison. Karen Kahl provided the organ accompaniment for congregational hymns “Just As I Am”, “Without One Plea”, “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” and “Abide With Me”. Those serving as pallbearers were: David Friedrichsen, Andrew Friedrichsen, Steve Nielsen, Darlo Jeschke, Paul Kuester, Jeff Sis, and Alan Nielsen. The family invited everyone in attendance at the service to join them in fellowship and lunch at the church, served by the Dorcus Society. The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of arrangements.
