Ruth A. Funkhouser, 52, Onawa, Iowa died Wednesday, December 7 1958, in Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa.

She was born July 16, 1936 in Onawa to Alex and Lillian Estelle (Thompson) Cummins and attended school in Whiting. On December 6, 1952, she married Peter "Jiggs" Funkhouser in Storm Lake. The couple made their home in Monona County. She was employed as a cook at the Onawa Cafe for the last 15 years.

Survivors include, her husband, four sons, Tony, Glen Dean, Kelly and Andy, all of Onawa, two daughters, June DeLashmutt and Tina Funkhouser, both of Onawa, two sisters, Gladys Gogdill of Vancouver, Wash and Aurenia Ruebens of Newhall, Calif, two brothers, Russell of Onawa and Raymond of DesMoines and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 1988, at the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. The organist was Mrs. Vincent Phillips and the soloist, Mrs Fred Gibson, sang, "Precious Lord Take My Hand" and "The New 23rd Psalm".

Casket bearers were Robert Cummins, Ervin Cummins, Russell Cummins, Jr., Michael Cummins, Floyd Allen and Robert McCracken.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
