Services Held for Mrs. Irvin Duncan

Pearl Duncan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. McKirdy, was born August 12, 1894 in northern Minnesota and died at a Sioux City, Iowa hospital Friday, September 12, 1975. She had reached the age of 81 years and one month.

Mrs. Duncan lived with her parents in a logging camp and as a young lady was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad as a newsstand manager. In 1936 she came to Mapleton, Iowa and was employed by Mr. Irvin Duncan to assist in raising his two children.

On October 10, 1972 she married Irvin Duncan. He preceded her in death September 3, 1975.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Colleen) Rickey of Camarilo, California; one son,Robert Duncan of Sioux City and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 15, 1975 at 3:00 p.m. at the Walter Chapel in Mapleton. Rev Homer Perry officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Mapleton.
