Anna M Hartigan, 101, of Mapleton, died Monday, August 6, 1984 at a Sioux City hospital.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 10,
in St Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton. Monsignor A.W. Behrens, pastor officiated. Burial was in St Mary's Cemetery. A rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 9 at the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mrs.Hartigan, the former Anna Margaret Loy, was born April 11, 1883, in Dunlap to Patrick and Catherine (Flood) Loy. She married Matthew Hartigan, Sr. February 16, 1915 at Dunlap. The couple farmed in the Soldier vicinity until 1937 when they moved to a farm near Mapleton. Mr. Hartigan died in 1966. Mrs. Hartigan lived in Mapleton until four years ago when she moved to a nursing home at Battle Creek.

She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church and the church Ladies Guild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Emil (Ruth) Schleimer of Danbury; one son, Robert of Danbury; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
