James F Reid, 67, of Mapleton, died Sunday, August 12, 1984, in a Onawa hospital after a brief illness.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. in the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton. Monsignor A.W. Behrens officiated. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska. A Flag presentation was conducted by Loren-Hollister Post 496, American Legion, at the funeral hom.

Mr. Reid was born March 12, 1917 at Holstein, Iowa, to Alexander and Mae (Sullivan) Reid. He lived in Holstein, Sioux City and for 25 years at Omaha, Nebraska, moving to Mapleton in June, 1983. He was a plumber and painter. He married Veronica Steinbach in 1960, in Omaha. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.

Mr. Reid was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife and one daughter, Odetta Reid of Mapleton.
