Nettie Grace Leisinger, 82, of Mapleton, died Monday, August 6, 1984 in a nursing home in Whiting.

Services were at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9, in the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton. The Rev. Dick Krambeck officiated. Burial was in Grant Cemetery, near Rodney. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Mrs. Leisinger, the former Nettie Riley, was born June 6, 1902, near Ticonic, to Lewis L and Fannie (Jividen) Riley. She lived in Ticonic, Castana, Soldier and the last 42 years in Mapleton. She married Lewis Leisinger May 24, 1920 in Onawa. They farmed until 1940, when they moved to Mapleton. He died October 1, 1974. She worked for Suiter Poultry Company and as a cook in the Home Cafe in Mapleton.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, one brother and three grandchildren.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Gladys Phipps and Mrs. Raymond (Dorothy) Archer, both of Onawa, Mrs. Leonard (Darlene) Wacheldorf of Mapleton, Mrs. Dean (Norma) Kohler of Payola, Kansas and Mrs. Marvin (Donna) larsen of Ute; two sons, Vernon of Moville and Freddie of Mapleton; one brother, Maurice of Mapleton; five sisters, Mrs. Glen (leola) Cook, Mrs. Norman (Ruby) Tiepell and Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Palmer, all of Vancouver, Washington, Mrs. Harvey (Fannie) Dowdy of Sioux City and Mrs. Everett (Helen) Parker of San Jose, California; 26 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Rick Archer, Gary Phipps, Randy Wacheldorf, Dennie Wacheldorf, Greg Wacheldorf, Dave Leisinger, Cary Leisinger, Tom Kohler, Mike Kohler, John Larson and Ronnie Larson.
