19 December 1991Wayne W Roberts, 83, of Onawa, died Wednesday, December 11, 1991 at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa after a long illness.
He was born February 27, 1908, on a farm near Onawa, Iowa, to Alvin and Valera (Moore) Roberts. On December 26, 1927 he married Beulah Anderson in Denison. He owned and operated a trucking business and then was employed by the Corps of Engineers for 21 years, retiring in 1976.
He was a member of the Onawa Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah; two sons and their wives, Don E and Sharon of Logan and Gayle H and Donna of Wood River, Illinois; one sister, Gladys Neilsen of Onawa; three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clifton; his twin sister, Winifred Orr and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 1991 at the Pearson Funeral Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. The chapel music was "In The Garden" and "Beyond The Sunset".
Casket bearers were Don Mustard, Jeff Sander, Bud Nelson, Martin Evenson, Merle Olson and Louis Mills.
Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa with arrangments by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
