Mrs. Anton (Magdalina) Yanak, Onawa, Iowa passed away at the Elmwood Nursing Home in Onawa, on October 8, 1980. Death came at the age of 97 years, 2 months and 20 days.

She was born Magdalina Katrina Jary in Czechoslovakia on July 16, 1883. She was married to Anton Yanak on June 30, 1906 at Omaha, Nebraska and the couple made their home in Omaha area until they came to the Onawa vicinity in 1926. Mr. Yanak died on May 13, 1972. "Maggie" as she was known by her family and friends had resided at Elmwood for the past eight years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Onawa.

Survivors are four sons, Joseph and Fred, both of Onawa, Frank of Whiting, Iowa and Jerry of Moorhead, Iowa; 16 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, Anton, on October 30, 1977.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday October 10, 1980, at the Pearson Funeral Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Rev. Herbert Foxworthy officiating. The organist was Mrs. Clara Kelley and the soloist, Mrs. Fred Gibson sang, "Rock of Ages" and "The Old Rugged Cross".

Casket bearers were Raymond Fleck, Thad Allen, Richard Davis, Leo Jary, Gordon Allen, and Charles Green.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
