Regina Marie Torticill, 81, Onawa, Iowa passed from this life August 1, 1983 at Burgess Memorial Hospital, Onawa, Iowa.

She was born May 12, 1902, in Colorado Springs, Colorado to William and Elizabeth Spiegel; On July 20, 1921 she was united in marriage to Leo W Torticill at Mondamin, Iowa. To this union, nine children were born, Bette, William E., Dolores, Agnes, Leo J, Theresa, Mary, Phillip J., and Gary. They lived in Woodbury County for 15 years and in the Onawa and Blencoe area since 1938. He died August 13, 1971 in DesMoines, Iowa.

She was a member of St Johns Catholic Church and the Rosary Society of the Church. She also was a member of the Blencoe American Legion Auxillary and the Birthday Club of Onawa.

Survivors include; five daughters, Mrs. James (Bette) Marley, Blencoe, Mrs. Vinton (Dolores) Nutt and Mrs. Ray(Mary) Hosford, both of DesMoines, Mrs. Agnes Mann, Kansas City, Missouri and Mrs. Ed (Theresa) Poulson, Denver, Colorado; four sons, William E., Onawa, Leo J, Dakota City, Nebraska; Phillip J. Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Gary A. Phoenix, Arizona; one sister, Mrs. Raymond (Norine) Smith, Galva, Illinois; one brother, Albert, Kewanee, Illinois; one brother-in-law, Harry Torticill; 50 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren and 12 nieces and Nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son-in-law and one great-grandchild.

The funeral Mass was held on Thursday, August 4, 1983 at 10:30 a.m. at St Johns Catholic Church at Onawa, Mass Celebrant Reverend Father Donald Smith. Mrs Robert Oehler was the organist and Leslie Hosford the vocalist, sang “Ava Marie” and “The Lords Prayer.”

Honorary Bearers were Dr. John Garred, Dr. Thomas Gordon, Carl Uhl, Lloyd Bedford, Henry Peterson and Pat Marley.

Bearers were PJ Torticill, Jeff Torticill, Joe Marley, Tom Marley, Rick Nutt and Mike Mann.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery at Blencoe, Iowa, with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa, Iowa
