Onawa Democrat
22 September 1932

Sarah Ann Welliver Taylor was born December 9, 1847 in Indiana, the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. John Welliver. Mr. and Mrs. Welliver moved from Indiana to Davis County, Iowa, living awhile and then moving to Florence, Nebr. There Sarah Ann grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Edward Taylor April 5, 1866. To this union one child was born, Mrs. W H Wood of Colome, South Dakota. The Taylors lived in Florence a short time after marriage, moving to Harrison County and then to Monona County where they have spent over sixty years of their married life. They moved from the farm to the old town of Moorhead in after years, then to the present site in the new town. Here she gave up the battles of this life September 16, 1932 at the advances age of 84 years, 9 months and 7 days.

She was united with the church of Christ when it was in the old town and held firmly to her belief to the last. All who came in contact with her good wholesome life were friends to the last, thus a good woman has gone on and left behind a record which we all may call good. She did not go so far outside her home to do good, but her home was a home for any in need where she could aid them. She attended church services as long as she was abler to be taken by friends. Thus in a quiet and unassuming way she made many life long friends.

She leaves to mourn her aged husband, her daughter, Mrs. W H.Wood, William Welliver, an only brother, six grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and eight great- great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
