Elmira Amelia Oldis was born March 2, 1913 at Onawa, Iowa and passed from this life in the Burgess Memorial Hospital on May 8, 1972. Death came at the age of 59 years.

She was united in marriage with Harold Oldis on September 19, 1948 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. For the past 20 years she has made her home in Yelm, Washington. About three months ago she came to Whiting because of illness.

While in Washington she was employed as a Flight Test Data Processing Clerk.

Early in life she accepted the Christ as her Savior & was united with the First Christian Church of Onawa. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge number 222 of Onawa and a Past Noble Grand of the order, she was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of Blencoe.

Survivors include her husband Harold of Yelm, Washington; two step-daughters; Mrs Gary Stanhope and Mrs Kenneth Wyman both of Baker, Montana; four brothers; Jewell and Bernell Waugh both of Whiting; Gerald Waugh of Alameda, California and Donald Waugh of Paramount California; one sister, Mrs Lorraine Harding of Whiting and 8 grandchildren.

Services were held at the First Christian Church in Onawa at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 1972 with the Rev Everett Epperson officiating. Mrs Orland Ferris sang accomapanied by Mrs Carl Linden. Bearers were Harvey Pitts, Vernon Orr, Lowell Dinwiddie, Orville Rutledge, Farrell Orr and Dwight Lamb. Interment was in the Harrison Cemetery near Whiting with the Wood Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
