Lyle “Bud” Marchel, 49, formerly of Onawa, died March 4, at a Lafayette, In Hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. March 7 at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, Lafayette, Ind. with the Rev Marcus Lang officiating. Burial was in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, Lafayette.

Mr. Marchel was born July 15, 1922 at Onawa, Iowa. He married Bertha Mertz in Onawa in 1946. Seventeen years ago they moved to Lafayette where he was quality control manager for National Homes Corp. Lyle was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include the widow; one son, Bradley K, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Frank Satler of of Goldsbury, N.C. his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Strunk of Onawa; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Hansen of Onawa and Mrs. Joyce Hall of Whiting.
