Wilma Jean Funkhouser, 60, of Jacksonville, Tx and formerly of Sioux City,, Iowa died Tuesday April 27, 1993 at her home in Jacksonville after a long illness.

She was born December 4, 1932 on a farm west of Castana, Iowa to Lester and Josephine (Means) Davis. On April 12, 1952 she was united in marriage to Jimmie Melvin Funkhouser in Onawa by Rev Epprerson. The couple owned and operated an opitical business in Sioux City, Lincoln, NE and Jacksonville, Texas.

Survivors include; her husband, Jimmie; two sons, Leslie Melvin and his wife Julie of Athens, Tx. And Kirk DeWayne of Jacksonville, Texas; one sister, Bernice and her husband, Albert “Buss” Nixon of Battle Creek, Iowa; her mother-in-law, Mrs Ruby Funkhouser of Paullina, Iowa; her sister-in-law an d brother-in-law, Dale and Helen Bard of Council Bluffs, Iowa’ two grandchildren Jessica and Jayson Funkhouser of Athens, Texas and numerous aunts, uncles, Nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Everett, Wayne and Ralph.
Funeral Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 1993 at the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa, with Rev Everett Epperson officiating. The organist, Mrs John Johnston played, “You Light Up My Life” and “How Great Thou Art”.

Casket bearers were Lewis Davis, Jim Davis, Mike Davis, Jerry Nixon, Walter Collins and Todd Nelson.

Interment was in Harrison Cemetery, Whiting, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa, Iowa
