Valentine Nagel

Valentine Ernest Nagel, 66, a Grant Center farmer, died on Saturday morning December 18, 1971 at his home after a long illness.

He was born on January 21, 1905 at Minier, Illinois. In 1918 he moved to Grant Center his his parents, Ernest and Anna Nagel.

Survivors include the widow, Ella; four sons Everett H of Turin, Leonard V of Lancaster, Calif, Richard E of Palmdale, Calif and Philip J of Grant Center; one daughter, Mrs Waldon (Eva) Hartje of McClelland, Iowa; two brothers, Karl of Mapleton, Iowa and Paul of Castana, Iowa and 15 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2,p.m. on Monday,, December 20,1971 at the United Methodist Church at Ticonic. The Rev John Schlosser officiated and burial was at the Grant Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Nephews Paul Nagel Jr of Sioux City, Bob and Dale Jacobson of Mapleton, Gail Blakely of Rodney, Loren Blakely and Elwood Nagel.

A memorial has been established in Mr Nagels name for the American Cancer Society.
