Lewis W "Bill" Templeton, 69, Whiting, Iowa, died August 7, 1986, at Burgess Memorial Hospital, Onawa, after a long illness.

He was born October 18, 1916 at Onawa, Iowa to William J and Daisy (Chapman) Templeton. On February 13, 1937, he married Louisa Mander at Plattsmouth, Nebraska. He was employed at the Swift and Company Packing Plant in Sioux City for 25 years, retiring in 1981.

He was a member of the Whiting Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Jack, of Whiting; one daughter, Mrs James (Janet) Jandrlich of Philadelphia, Penn; three sisters, Mrs Maybel Johnston of Onawa, Mrs Kenneth (Opal) Oxley of Dayton, Ohio and Mrs Hugh (Rhea) Caldrewood of Traer; and two step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter and two brothers.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 11, 1986, at the church of Christ, Whiting, Iowa with Evangelist Rusty Hedger officiating. The orgaist was Mrs Arnold Brended and the vocalist, Dan Neldeberg, sang, "There's Room At The Cross For You" and "Now I Belong To Jesus".

Casket bearers were Ervin Mander, Ed Fors, E.H. Gulick, Earl Mander, Albert Gregerson, and Dr D.L. Niffenegger.

Interment was in the Whiting Cemetery, Whiting, Iowa with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa
