Another Pioneer Is Called Home
Had Been A Resident Of This County For 37 Years
Passed Away at his Home Near Blencoe Sunday noon After Lingering Illness from Brights Disease
John Lindhorst a resident of Blencoe for twenty years past, died at his home in West Blencoe Sunday noon. July 9, after a lingtring illness from Bright's disease. Mr Lindhorst had been a patient sufferer for the past two years. He became bedridden nearly six weeks ago and slowly lost strength until the end came.
Mr Lindhorst was born in Germany February 17, 1850, being in his seventy second year when he passed away. In 1873 he married Lena Julia Lichtwald. In 1885 they came to Iowa and settled on the Yeoman ranch southeast of Blencoe. Here they reared a family of five daughters who with the widow survive.
The children are: Mrs A Nikolaisen, Mrs Ray Heller, Mrs William Burlingham, Mrs William Wilkins and Mrs Edward Brunker.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the residence being conducted by Rev MP Jones, pastor of the Congregational Church. Interment was made in Graceland Cemetery.
Mr Lindhorst was a life long member of the Lutheran Church. He was loved as a friend to all. respected as a kinf father and hightly esteemed as a good citizen.
In his passing, we stop to mark another man who came to a great country, worked hard and left behind him a hertiage which his children may always look to him with honor and pride.
