Susan Catherine Quigley nee Taylor was born in Davis County, Iowa near Drakesville, August 1, 1850 and died at her home in Turin, May 23, 1922 at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 23 days.
Her early life was spent near Drakesville, where she was loved for her beautiful character displayed in acts of love and charity.
On January 6, 1875 she was united in marriage with Geo. D. Quigley and together they have been allowed to walk in the beauty of love until her master called "Come Home"
The first home made by these united lives was near Ottumwa, Iowa, where they moved to Mills County for two years and thence to Monona County for three years. About eight years were spent in Crawford County, when they returned to Monona County for a time. They then moved to Colorado and after six years residence there returned to this county where they have since resided. The deceased united with the Missionary Baptist Church while in tender years and later with the Christian Church to which faith so remained faithful until death.
She has been in declining health for several years but always forgot herself in her interest in things in general and her love and devotion to the home and family.
In the early part of last October she suffered a painful accident, that of a broken hip, which together with a complication of diseases, confined her to a bed pf pain and suffering which she bore bravely until death came on May 23rd to release her.

She was the first from the home-nest to be transported to the Beyond; where she has gone to make ready for her loved ones when they shall follow.
The services were held at the ME church on Thursday afternoon conducted by her pastor, Rev JE Bennett assisted by Rev Kleckner of the Onawa Christian Church. By special request, Rev Bennett took for his text 1 Cor 15:55-57 and the hymns sung were favorites of the deceased. Interment was made in the Belvidere Cemetery.
