Wayne Edwin Houchins, 70 of Ticonic died July 16, 1972 at the Onawa Hopsital after a long illness.

Mr Houchins was born February 26, 1902 at Clearmont, Missouri and later moved to Iowa. He married Opal Lundeen in 1924. In 1947 he married Ann Tippens. He had farmed was was also employedf at Armour and Co at Sioux City for 13 years.

Survivors include the widow; one daughter, Mrs Carlyle (Verdetta) Peterson of Marcus; and son, Wayne Dean of Natchitoches, La, two sisters, Mrs Blanche Smothers of Ticonic and Mrs Alta Jarrell of Van Nuys, Calif.: three granddaughters and one great grandson.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on July 19, 1972 at the Willman Funeral Chapel at Rodney. The Reverend Everett Epperson of the Christian Church of Onawa officiated.

Pallbearers were; Vernon Heisler, Gordon Lane, Waldo Lundeen, Bill McCall, Glen Skow and Vinton Woodward.

Burial was at the Grant Township Cemetery.
