Emily Melotte Prichard was born October 28, 1889 at Charter Oak to Hugh and Louise Melott. She died Dec, 21, 1976 at the Onawa hospital after a long illness.
She attended school at Oto, Iowa. She married Jay Prichard on March 18, 1910 in Sioux City. They farmed in the Hornick area.
Emily was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ticonic, Iowa.
Services were held on Dec, 23, 1976 at the Ticonic United Methodist Church with Rev Louis Aitken officiating. Burial was in the Grant Cemetery near Ticonic.
The pallbearers were her grandsons.
Survivors include five sons; Fred of Fontanelle, Iowa, Gordon of Napa, California, Paul of Mapleton, Basil and Stewart of Hornick; four daughters, Mrs Lawrence (Helen) Birchard, Mrs George (Effie) Till of Hornick, Mrs Grace Parker of Orange, California and Mrs Dorothy Reznek of Sioux City; 27 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and a sister, Mrs Edna Howard of Hot Springs, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two children.
