Twila (Twiford) Rustin
March 23, 1920 - May 31, 2005

Age 85, Council Bluffs resident since 1953. Passed away May 31, 2005 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital of natu-ral causes.

She was born in Blencoe, Iowa to William and Mary (Edwards) Twiford on March 23, 1920. She graduated in the Class of 1937 from Woodbine, Iowa High School and one year of Normal Training School. She was a country school teacher and a substitute in different towns and a bookkeeper for Brandeis De-partment Store and Gold-stein’s. She was a member of Broadway Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Rustin, who passed away on August 25, 2002. Also preceded in death by son, Gary Peterson, her parents, step-father, Joe C. Hunter, sisters, Reva Olsen and Arladine DeLoss, and brothers, Kenneth and Keith Twiford.

Survived by daughter, Sharon Peterson Baker and husband John of Newport News, Virginia, daughter-in-law, Bevery Hall Peterson of Warren, Michigan, 5 grand-children; 11 great grandchil-dren; sisters, Lillian Carritt and husband Gordon of Ute, Iowa and Lois Nagel and husband Edward of Sioux City, Iowa; brothers, Harold Hunter and wife Lisse of Oceanside, California, Frank Hunter of Los Angeles, Cali-fornia, and Dillion Hunter and wife Pat of Ute, Iowa; Sister-in-law, Barbara Twi-ford of Utica, Montana; Brothers-in-law: Jerry De-Loss of Fargo, North Dakota and LeRoy Olsen of Sioux City, Iowa.

There was an open visita-tion Wednesday at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Fu-neral Home and at the Broadway Christian Church prior to the service. Service was held Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church with Anne Marie Aita officiating. A luncheon was served immediately following the service. Burial was Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Spring Valley Cemetery in Moorhead, Iowa.

Memorials may be offered to Broadway Christian Church building fund.
