James Gregerson
January 13, 1935-June 12, 2005

James Gregerson, age 70 of Ute, Iowa, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 12, 2005 at his home.

Services were held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ute with Pastor Terry Bock officiating. Burial was in St. Clair Cemetery, Ute. Sara Gregerson was the pianist for the service and Greg Gregerson was the soloist. He sang, "In The Garden" and "Some Day The Silver Cord Will Break". The congregation sang, "Softly and Tenderly" and "The Old Rugged Cross". A prayer service was held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15 at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Ute.

Jim was born on January 13, 1935, to Chris and Helen (Bates) Gregerson of Ute and attended Ute Public School. Jim started farming in 1950 and trucking in 1953. Jim married Kay Meadows on July 28, 1954. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2004 with family and friends. Jim worked for his father, Chris and continued to truck and farm. He owned and managed the Gregerson Elevator for nearly 20 years. He was a volunteer fireman and served as an EMT with Ute Ambulance Service. Jim continued to farm until his passing.

Survivors left to cherish Jim's memory include his wife, Kay; son, David and wife Patti Gregerson of Ute, IA; daughter Susan Davis of Temecula, CA; son Bruce Gregerson of Lincoln, NE; and daughter Anita and husband Eric Klanderud of Bellevue, NE. Jim is also survived by seven grandchildren: Granddaughter Jessica and husband Michael Rooks of Bellevue, NE; granddaughter Jacquelyn Gregerson of Omaha, NE; granddaughters Hannah and Rachel Gregerson of Lincoln, NE; and grandsons Ethan, Maxwell, and Zachary Klanderud of Bellevue, NE. Jim is also survived by a great-granddaughter, Grace Rooks of Bellevue.

Jim is also survived by his brother, Francis Gregerson and wife Jean of Longmont, CO; sister Rachel Naab of Roseville, CA; brother Robert Gregerson and wife Sara of Lincoln, NE; sister Marcia Estey and husband Ed of Des Moines, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother Helen and father Chris Gregerson, brother-in-law Sherman Naab, nephew Dennis Meadows, and his aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers were Andy Estey, Mitch Estey, Mike Estey, Greg Gregerson, Jeff Gregerson, Ken Gregerson, Bill Meadows, Eric Meadows, Keith Meadows, Matt Meadows, Rick Meadows, Ross Meadows, Scott Meadows and Randy Naab.

Arrangements were made under the direction of the Armstrong Funeral Home of Ute.
