Clayton Eugene "Gene" Rubendall passed away at Mercy Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa on August 8, 2005 at the age of 76.

He had been in ill health for some time and had recently been hit by a car in Sioux City. The body was cremated.

The oldest of seven children, he was born on May 1, 1929 to Clayton and Dorothy (McCaully) Rubendall at Lake View, Iowa. He grew up and attended school in the Sac City area and moved with his family to the Mapleton area in 1949.

He was married to Connie Dean and they had two children, Kimber Rubendall and Kathee Price.

He was employed by Haubrich in Mapleton and Hopkins Plumbing in Sloan and later owned a plumbing and heating business in Sloan.

He left the area and resided in the Los Angeles area returning due to ill health. He resided at Moville for a number of years, later moving to Sioux City. He was residing at Martin Towers in Sioux City at the time of his death.

Survivors are his son, Kimber, grandchildren, Corey Price and Caree Olson and a great-granddaughter of Mapleton, as well as a son-in-law, Mike Price.

He also leaves a sister, Marge Jurgens, (Oskar) of Denison, Delores Mohr (John) of Ute, Donna Krayenhagen of Moville, Ken Rubendall (Laurel) of Peoria, Arizona, Dorothy Uhl (Richard) of Lawon and Nancy Rogers (James) of Moville; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Kathee Price and a brother-in-law, LeRoy Krayenhagen.
