Fredrich Hesse
Feb. 8, 1935-March 25, 2006

Fredrich A. (Fred) Hesse, 71, Lincoln, died Saturday, March 25, 2006, at the hospital following an extremely brief battle with cancer.

He was born February 8, 1935 to August and Katie Hesse in Charter Oak Township, Iowa. At the age of eight the family moved to Mapleton, Iowa where he attended public and Mapleton High. At age 16 he joined the Al Hesse Polka Band playing trumpet for two years. Following graduation he attended an Omaha tech school, worked for a computer corporation in Omaha, served a tour of duty with the Chicago 5th Army Headquarters and then returned to his Omaha employment. That company transferred him to Lincoln in 1960, was ultimately sold and he went to work for the J.J.E. Office Equipment Company as a Service Tech. As the company grew he became Service Manger, V.P. Operations, and part owner, where he remained until his retirement in March of 2000.

In 1965 Fred joined a 5-piece combo band know as Jim Ticota's Band. He played with that group for four years. In 1970 a band was formed known as the Music Makers where he enjoyed playing trumpet, trombone and singing. In February of 1985 Fred met Karla and they were married one year later on Valentine's Day. They have shared 20 beautiful years together, especially sharing their love of dancing and the opportunity to meet many beautiful friends. Fred will be most remembered for his constant sweet smile, his happy whistle while he worked, his foot tapping to any music, his poker slot machines, his love of family, and by his wife because every time she needed anything, all she had do say was "Fred".
