Patricia A. Davis, age 49 of Mapleton died unexpectedly at her home near Mapleton on Friday, May 5, 2006.

Services were held 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 8 at St. John's United Methodist Church in Mapleton with Pastor Fred Pilecki officiating. Burial was in Little Sioux Township Cemetery, Smithland. Music for the service was "Roll Me Away" on compact disc by Bob Segar. A prayer service was held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Patricia Ann Davis was born May 31, 1956 in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Wayne and Dorothy (Pixler) Davis. She was baptized into the Christian faith at the Methodist Church. She graduated from Maple Valley High School with the class of 1975. In 1979 she met Jerry Gilbert who became her life partner. They lived in Denison, Dow City, and then moved to Mapleton. She currently was employed with Mid Continent Contracting Inc. based in Mason City, Iowa.

Patty enjoyed the many trips she took with her brothers and sister to Washington. She loved to go boating with Jerry and although it was a surprise, she loved Jerry's new Harley and looked forward to many road trips this summer. Patty had an appreciation for antiques and enjoyed going to auctions and bargain shops. She was gifted with talents in gardening and flowers and had a flair for crafts and decorating. Patty had a unique sense of humor - those who know her, know what that means. She was a good friend - ready to help out how and when she could. She truly touched our lives.

She is survived by Jerry; two brothers, Lewis Davis and his special friend, Madlene Gaullap of Whiting, Iowa and Michael Davis and his wife, Connie, of Rodney, Iowa; one sister and her husband, Myrna and Bill Eckerman of McCook Lake, South Dakota; Jerry's family, two sisters, Annette Campbell with Steve Balogh of St. Joe, Missouri and Colleen Koerperich of Hiawatha, Kansas; a brother, Dan Gilbert of Santana, Kansas and Jerry's father, Leonard Gilbert of Nemo, Missouri along with other relatives and numerous good friends.

Patty was preceded in death by her mother and father and a sister-in-law, Suzan Davis.

Pallbearers were Shane Davis, Joshua Koerperich, Bret Davis, Kristopher Koerperich, Kyle Davis and Rusty Frakes.
