Susie A. Jacobson, age 91 of Castana, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at Onawa, Iowa.
Services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 26 at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton with Rev. Harry D. McAlpine officiating. Burial was in Little Sioux Township Cemetery, Smithland. Connie Bridgeman was the organist for the service and music was "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace". A vigil service was held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Armstrong Chapel in Mapleton.

Susie Angela Jacobson was born June 1, 1912, in Salix, Iowa, the daughter of William and Sussanna (McKenna) Langston. She married LeRoy Theordore "Short" Jacobson on October 17, 1946 in Elk Point, South Dakota. LeRoy died on August 13, 1984.

After her marriage, Susie lived in the Castana, Iowa area. She had always been very inquisitive and she would often tell her grandchildren the stories of her life experiences. Her hobbies were taking care of her chickens and she had a large garden. She enjoyed a long and healthy life and died after a short illness.

She is survived by her three sons, LeRoy Anthony Jacobson and his wife, Janice, of Mapleton, Iowa, Jerome Willis Jacobson and his wife, Roxie, of South Sioux City, Nebraska, and Loyal Theodore Jacobson of Vermillion, South Dakota; nine grandchildren, and nine great- grandchildren.

Along with her husband, Susie was preceded in death by her parents, seven sisters, and two brothers.

Pallbearers were Randy Jacobson, Tracy Jacobson, Travis Jacobson, Casey Tarr, Shane Jacobson and Brett Jacobson.

Arrangements were made under the direction of the Armstrong Funeral Home of Mapleton.
