Verna Lois VanNorman, daughter of Lewis and Hannah Goochey was born April 23, 1914 at Rose, Nebraska and passed from this life in the Elmwood Home at Onawa on Saturday, April 14, 1962. Death came following a long illness, she had reached the age of 47 years, 11 months and 20 days.

Most of her life was spent in and around Rose, Nebr. On March 4, 1940 she was united in marriage with Ray VanNorman at that time they moved to Onawa, where she has since made her home.

She is survived by one daughter and one son by a previous marriage; Mrs Fred Perry of Onawa and Richard Goochey of Ainsworth, Nebr. Her husband, Ray and four children at home, Betty, Donald, Linda and Darla. Also her father L.A. Goochey of Taylor, Nebr.; four sisters and two grandchildren. There are many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 16, 1962 at the Pearson Funeral Chapel. Rev Everett Epperson officiated. Mrs Orland Ferris sang "In The Garden" and " The Old Rugged Cross" accompanied at the organ by Mrs Carl Linden. The casket bearers were Robert Perry, Walter Hoffman, Ignac Pekarek, William Erlandson, Wilfred Gibson and Eli Holbrook. Interment was in the Cemetery at Onawa.
