Carl "Pete" Hansen of Onawa, Iowa, 88, died Saturday, April 7, 1984, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, following a brief illness.

He was born at Council Bluffs, Iowa, on June 26, 1895, the son of Christian and Hansena Larsen Hansen. During World War I he served in the U.S. Army and was sent to Camp Gordon, Georgia. After the Armustice was signed, he was sent to Germany with the Army of Occupation for one year. He married Ethel Fisher on October 23, 1920, at Sioux City, Iowa.

He farmed and was a school bus driver for many years in the Onawa vicinity. He was of the Lutheran faith. He was a 65 year member of the David McNeill American Legion Post 129 in Onawa.

Survivors include his wife Ethel of Onawa, two brothers, Russell of Washington State, and Cy of Moville, Iowa, one sister, Mrs Wesley (Laura) Lundeen of Akron, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Celia, Tina and Florence and his brother, William, John, Chris, Laurtz (Dutch) and Harold.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 1984, at the Willman Funeral Chapel, Rodney, Iowa, with Rev Jerry Quandt officiating. The organist was Mrs Ellen Harbeck.

Pallbearers were Keith Hansen, Donavan Hansen, Darwin Hansen, Durwood Hansen, Royce Gramm and Orville Lundeen.

Flag presentation was by the David McNeill American Legion Post 129, Onawa, Iowa. Interment was in the Grant Township Cemetery, Rodney, Iowa
