29 March 1984Ella Louise Morgan of Castana, Iowa, died March 15, 1984, at the Willow Dale Nursing Home in Battle Creek, Iowa, after a brief illness. She had reached the age of 92 years, 4 months and 24 days.
She was born October 21, 1891, at Beardstown, Illinois, to Henry and Dora Snyder. On November 2, 1912 she was united in marriage to Homer Morgan. He died January 15, 1957, at Castana. She had made her home in Castana for more than 60 years and was a member of the Castana Community Church.
Survivors include two sons, Harlan of Castana and Loren of Kansas City, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Services were held at the Castana Community Church on Monday, March 19, 1984, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev Richard Hempenius officiating. Mrs Paul Peterson, the orgaist; accompanied the soloist, Kenneth Janson, who sang "Precious Lord Take My Hand" Active bearers all grandsons, were Donny Smothers, Dennis Smothers, Richard Clingenpeel, Darrel Iverson, Jim Morgan and David Morgan.
Honorary bearers were Dewey Smothers, Calvin Jones, Gene Jones, Gene Jones, Art Morgan, Ron Loenaack, MIckey Little, Pat Morgan and Randy Crum.
Interment was in Grant Township Cemetery at Rodney, Iowa.
