Norma M Nickolisen, age 76, of Rodney, Iowa died Thursday, January 7, 1999 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Services were held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 12 at the Rodney United Church of Christ in Rodney with Pastor Karen Handke officiating.

Burial was in the Grant Township Cemetery, Rodney. Wanetta Steinhoff was the organist for the service. A prayer service was held at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Armstrong Chapel in Mapleton.

Norma Marie Nickolisen was born March 11, 1922 at Audubon, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Dollie (Swezey) Niklason. She was raised in Brookings, South Dakota and graduated with the Brookings High School Class of 1940. In April of 1944 she graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

On August 25, 1944, Norma was united in marriage to Dr H.P. Nickolisen at the San Diego Naval Station. THey resided in Sioux City, Iowa for 38 years of Dr Nickilisen's oral surgery practice. In 1984, the couple retired to Mesa Arizona. Dr Nickolisen died May 10, 1997.

Norma served as president of the following organmizations; the Northwest Iowa Dental Auxillary, Iowa State Dental Auxillary, Sioux City Alpha Delta Phi Alumnae Association, Chapter IL P.E.O., Sioux Delphian Club, LaSertoma, Sunland Village Golf Association, Desert Daisies and Sunland Village P.E.O., Social Groups. She was National Province President of Alpha Delta Pl. serving five iniverities. She was active in Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Mem-Sahibs, P.T.A, St Vincent Hospital Board, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, A.A.U.W. and Questers. She was the University of Iowa Mother of the Year in 1965.

Norma attended the First Presbyterian Church in Sioux City and the Rodney United Church of Christ in Rodney. Other interest include bridge, golf, bird watching, traveling and reading.

Survivors include a daughter, Beth Domke and her husband, Carl of Overland Park, Kansas; two sons, WIlliam B and his wife Carol of Flagstaff, Arizona and Dr Robert S of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; two brothers, Harold F Niklason. Jr of Brookings, South Dakota and Lowell Niklason and his wife Lucille of Ogden, Utah; four grandsons, Todd Yoder of Dallas, Texas, Trent Yoder of Oxford, Mississippi, Travis Yoder of Austin, Texas and Chad Nickolisen of San Diego. California; along with many other relatives and a host of good friends.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Loren.

Pallbearers were Todd Yoder, Trent Yoder, Chad Nickolisen, Carl Domke, Jim Davis and Don Kelsey.

Memorials may be directed to the Rodney United Church od Christ or the Mid America Heart Institute at St Lukes Hospita Foundation, 800 West 47th Street, Suite 204, Kansas City, Missouri 64112.

Arrangements were made under the direction of the Armstrong Funeral Home of Mapleton.
