August Wellner, 65, was found dead in his home, Tuesday, July 8, 1980. It is believed he died about July 4.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Ute with the Rev Robert Leege officiating.

Burial was in St Clair Cemetery at Ute.

The Walter Funeral Home of Ute was in charge.

Mr Wellner was born on July 21, 1914 to Herman and Anna (Timm) Wellner in the Ute-Soldier area. He later farmed in the Schleswig-Ricketts area. He then moved to Charter Oak. He had lived in Ute for the past 30 years.

He was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two brothers, Herman of Derby, Kansas and Ernest of Killeen, Texas and five sisters, Mrs Hubert (Helen) Berens of Charter Oak, Mrs Benny (Ruth) Schmeider of Ute, Mrs Gehart (Emma) Langholdt of Charler Oak, Mrs Robert (Esther) Remmes of Charter Oak and Mrs Delbert (Dorothy) Kroll of Mapleton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Pallbearers were Dean Berens, Blaine Schwingdorf, Steve Schoenherr, Steve Langholdt, Kevin Remmes and Anthony Schmieder.
