Mrs Roy Hadden, Castana, Iowa, died on January 11, 1981 at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa. Death came to the age of 74 years 1 month and 14 days following a long illness,

She was born Mariam Roxy Carritt at Red Deer, Alberta, Canada on November 28, 1906, the daughter of Thomas Andrew Carritt and Martha Christine Nelson Carritt. She moved to the Jordan Township area at the age of six months where she lived the remainder of her life.

She taught rural school in Jordan Township for eight years before her marriage to Roy Hadden on February 27, 1931 at Onawa. She was a member of Soldier Lutheran Church in which she held various offices and the Jordan Birthday Club. She was a 25 year member of 4-H.

Survivors include her husband, Roy, of Castana, two daughters, Mrs Larry (Rose) DuVal of Onawa and Mrs Harley.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 1981 at the Soldier Lutheran Church, Soldier, Iowa with Rev William Carter officiating. The organist was Mrs Leonard Jensen, who played "How Great Thou Art" and " The Old Rugged Cross".

Casket bearers were David DuVal, Dean DuVal, Dale DuVal, Alan Hadden, Kevin Hadden, Glenn Beall and Paul Beall.

Interment was in the Jordan Cemetery, Soldier, Iowa.
