Wilton L Ham Sr, 74, of Smithland, Iowa, died Sunday. August 1997 at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa

Mr Ham was born August 25, 1922 in Grant Township near Ticonic, Iowa, the son of William J and Hattie L (Bueoy) Ham. During World War II and Korea, he served in the U.S. Army. He farmed in the Rodney and Smithland area.
He was a member of the Leslie F Seaton American Legion Post #666 at Smithland.

Survivors include his three sons, Wilton Ham Jr of Rhode Island, David and his wife, Marge of Graham, Washington and Willard of Smithland; 1 daughter and her husband, Robin and Bob Bral of Denison, Iowa, 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Wilfred Ham of Tekamah, Nebraska; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Howard, Hallard, Glen, Leon and Emmett; 2 sisters, Elma and Zella; and 3 infant siblings.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 1997 at the United Church of Christ at Rodney, Iowa with Pastor Karen Handke officiating. Mrs Rodney Madsen, pianist played " Amazing Grace:.

Casket bearers were Clinton Ham, Cullen Ham, Jim Yockey and Derek Ham.

Interment was in Grant Township Cemetery at Rodney, Iowa with the Veteran Flag Presentation by Leslie F Seaton American Legion Post #666 of Smithland, Iowa.

Arrangements were by the Willman Funeral Home, Rodney, Iowa.
