Edith Mary Gramm, 89, Smithland, Iowa, died July 8, 1980, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Whiting, Iowa.

She was born June 17, 1890 in Grant Township, Monona County, Iowa to Henry and Nina Barber Bauman. On December 20, 1917, she was united in Marriage to Harold Gramm at Sioux City, Iowa. She was a lifelong resident of the Smithland area.

She was a 50 year member of Eastern Star, a member of the Grant Cemetery Society and was active in extension work.

Survivors include her husband, Harold of Smithland; one son, Royce Gramm of Sioux City, One daughter, Mrs Keith Johnson of Hornick, Iowa; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.

Funeral services were held at 10;00 a.m. Friday, July 11, 1980at the United Church of Christ in Rodney, Iowa, with Rev. Dale Church officiating. The organist was Mrs Maude Persinger and the vocalists, Mrs Ronald Maynard and Darrell Larson, sang "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross".

Casket bearers were James Manson, Waldo Lundeen, Oscar Hanson, James Cleveland, William Fouts and Ralph Davis.

INterment was in Grant Township Cemetery at Ticonic, Iowa.
