Carl C Anderson, 100, of Mapleton, Iowa died Friday June 18, 1999 at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton.

Carl was born February 26, 1899 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Charles Miron and Mary (Edwards) Anderson. He attended rural school near Omaha up to the sixth grade. He lived in various parts of the state of Iowa.

He married Gladys Pearl Riley on July 8, 1920, at Onawa, Iowa. She died February 7, 1956 in Mapleton.

He worked in different parts of the state for the Milwaukee Railroad as a track repairman. In the summer of 1968, he retired the railroad.

Survivors include a grandson and his wife, Steve and Janelle Anderson, of Mapleton; a brother, Gerald Anderson of Mapleton and two great grandchildren, Amber and Seth Anderson of Mapleton.

He was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy and a son, Joy.

Services were held ar 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 21, 1999. at the Willman Funeral Chapel in Rodney, Iowa with Pastor Karen Handke officiating. The tape selection, "Old Rugged Cross" was played.

Interment was in Grant Township Cemetery at Rodney, Iowa with arrangements by the Willman Funeral Home, Rodney, Iowa
