Ronald Eugene Bridgeman, 18, of Mapleton, died Tuesday, October 7, 1980, of injuries suffered in a car accident in Mapleton.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday in the Walter Funeral Chapel in Mapleton. The Rev Mark Smeltzer officiated. Burial was in the Heisler Cemetery near Mapleton. Arrangements were under the direction of the Walter Funeral Home of Mapleton.

Mr Bridgeman was born on September 15, 1962 at Battle Creek, to Willard and Ruth (Pauley) Bridgeman. He was a lifelong Mapleton resident and worked as a farm laborer.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs Ruth Hopkins of Mapleton, his father, Willard Bridgeman of Ute, two sisters, Mrs Bernita Zimmerman and Miss Rebecca, both of Mapleton; one brother, Richard and Albia, Iowa; two halfbrothers, Kenneth Hopkins of Albia and Dale Hopkins of Mapleton; and his maternal grandfather, Earl Pauley of Mapleton.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandmother.

Pallbearers were Kenneth Gray, Dennis Wieben, Larry Morgan, Kerry Gray, Steve Wessling and David Allen.
