Louise Parr

ONAWA, Iowa - Louise Parr, 76, of Onawa died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at a Omaha, Neb. hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Onawa, with the Rev. Donald R. Ludwick officiating. Burial will be in Grant Township, Ticonic, Iowa. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa.

Mrs. Parr was born Nov. 27, 1922, in Excelsior Springs, Mo., the daughter of Emil and Cora (Wizard) Bohrer. She moved to Onawa when she was 16 years old.

She married Charles Ross "Charlie" Parr in Dakota City. The couple made their home in Castana, Iowa, until moving to Onawa in 1976. He died Aug. 14, 1989, in Onawa.

She was a member of First Christian Church and Royal Neighbors of America. She received a Master Gardener certificate from the State of Iowa.

Survivors include four sons and their wives, LeRoy and Ponce Peterson of Maple Heights, Ohio, Paul and Mary Parr of Mitchell, S.D., Jack and Nora Parr of Castana and Larry and Linda Parr of Smithland, Iowa; three daughters and their husbands, Bernice and Don Link of El Paso, Texas, Roberta and Jerry O'Dell of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Bonnie and Jack Carlson of Ute, Iowa; 32 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a brother, Albert Bohrer of Ellington, Mo.;She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, two great-grandchildren, two sisters and six brothers.

Memorials may be directed to First Christian Church, the Sunday School or Crossroads of Western Iowa.
